Description

In this project we aim to predict the development of pain complaints in people with backpain. Most patients who visit a physical therapist with backpain do not need an intervention and will heal automatically. Only a small portion of patients develop chronic complaints. In order to assess this quickly we are looking into machine learning techniques to predict the expected outcome early on.

Important aspects in this project are:

• Develop the machine learning model based on collected data within the project
• Determine with end-users which requirements are needed to make a useful app for physicial therapists
• Develop clear and interpretable visualisation of the prediction results

We do this using a rapid-prototyping framework where physical therapists try out the app themselves. Eventually the functionality should be implemented in an EPD.
